After facing several delays, the highly anticipated film Bad Newz from Dharma Productions has finally been released in theaters today.
The trailer of the movie had already generated a lot of buzz, especially with the catchy song Tauba Tauba adding to the excitement. But was all the hype surrounding the film justified? Read our review below to find out!
The movie follows Akhil, a typical Delhi guy who falls in love with Saloni, a chef with big dreams. After getting married, their relationship hits a rough patch and they end up getting divorced. Saloni moves to Mussoorie and meets Gurbir while working at a hotel, sparking new possibilities for her future.
So basically, Saloni ended up sleeping with both Gurbir and Akhil in one night, and now she's pregnant. But the crazy part is that both guys could be the fathers because of something called heteropaternal superfecundation. Now the big question is, who will end up raising the babies with Saloni - Gurbir, Akhil, or maybe even both? Looks like things are about to get complicated...
Morale of the film
Bad Newz is a movie that initially shows promise with its unique concept, but ultimately falls into the typical trope of two guys vying for a girl's attention. The first half of the film has some good comedic moments, but it loses steam in the second half and feels like it drags on. However, it redeems itself towards the end with an emotional climax that picks up the pace again.
This story had the makings of a funny movie, with some scenes in the first half that are sure to have you laughing. However, it doesn't quite hit the mark in the second half. While it's not a sequel or part of a franchise, being produced by Karan Johar and focusing on pregnancy will inevitably draw comparisons to Good Newz, which was a great film.
